    Pe Lang (Sursee [CH],1974) realizza dei sistemi cinetici, che addomesticano e mettono in mostra le forze fisiche con un'eleganza avvincente. Le sue macchine obbediscono ad un'ottimizzazione stringente e costruttiva, attraverso la quale ogni suo elemento può essere decodificato in base alla propria funzionalità. In esse non vi appare nulla di decorativo o arbitrario. La loro sintassi é dominata dalla precisione e dal controllo, come cornici ad una dimensione aleatorea costruita, nella quale ordine e caos convivono in un fragile equilibrio. I movimenti delle sculture sono eventi visivi che ad un livello estetico si realizzano in se stessi e allo stesso tempo, come in un gioco di prestigio, portano con se un'illusione; questa evoca poi dei quesiti circa i principi sui quali essa si fonda. Spesso egli riproduce la medesima situazione di partenza, all'interno della quale la possibilità di variazione cinetica si ripete contemporaneamente in molteplici punti. Questo momento seriale sta al Minimalismo, così come del resto l´ermetica iconografia dei materiali sta ai macchinari stessi, i quali non possono essere messi in relazione con oggetti dell'esperienza quotidiana.
